Capacity Building under DRUM program :
A key ingredient to success for a Power Distribution Utility will be the ability of power sector people, especially distribution managers, to re-skill and reorient themselves to take-up greater challenges. The DRUM project has an ambitious target to create centers of excellence in power distribution at four pilot sites in different states. This initiative draws on the knowledge and experience of many highly motivated managers and engineers working with these utilities.
The major objectives of the DRUM Training program
  • Enhance the knowledge and experience of a significant number of distribution engineers, managers and technicians through the facilitation of technical and managerial training delivered by professional Indian training institutions: and
  • Support the development and institutional capacity enhancement of selected Indian Institutions for sustainable delivery of distribution business management, reform and regulation training.
